What is a profitable internet business to start, without web building skills?

Are affiliates a good bet?

My best advice is always to start with an industry where you have a core basis of knowledge in. There's money to be made in any industry if you have the knowledge and passion for it. There are also affiliates for every industry as well. What business have you been in before? and what are your interests? It really needs to start there.

To SEO a site requires the ability to write a lot about the subject.

Thanks for the response! The only network marketing experiences I've had are with the multi level selling of vitamin products, in addition to an affiliation with the company called GDI, which markets the next generation of web sites (after the major players have exhausted the dot coms, dot nets, dot orgs, etc.)

I met an individual in the Dr.'s office about a year ago who was in the mortgage business, and told me he was having success with buying 'short sale' (below market value) foreclosures from Banks. He talked the talk of a business man with his last comment that he was researching an affiliation with a porn site. It seems like a possibility, but logic would tell one that the industry is so big, the major players already have almost exclusive mastery and control.

Other than that, I wouldn't know what to try next. I have a job where I am fortunate to be paid fairly well, but I find the work destroys the soul. I'm pretty much resigned to knowing I'm among the lucky to have what I have, as the world seems to be sliding further a further into an economic depression. I still haven't given up hope of networking with the right individual(s) where I could find a more meaningful livlihood.

Robert, try not to think business - think "interest". Do you like vintage cars? cooking? Antiques? Football? whatever.

Sometimes a fulfilling and yes - profitable business comes just from a love of the subject. I have a wine website. I know wine and I love wine, so I started a wine site. I make some money with it, but that really came second.

Yes, the mortgage modification market is staturated. Vitamin and herbel products are even worse. Million of sites. Go with what you love and start writing and building something out.
